East Midlands freewheelers are a group of volunteers who provide vital services to the NHS completely free of charge. We deliver human breast milk, blood, medical supplies and equipment anywhere in the country. There services are provided 24/7. We provide this service at no costs at all to the NHS with a large emphasis on making a huge difference to public health, to help reduce bed blocking and save the NHS vast sums of money enabling them to provide a better service overall.
Seeing a need for an energetic, nonprofit organisation in this area, we formed our charity to provide the sensible solutions required. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of our amazing volunteers
We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. We are now in a position where we need volunteer Drivers/Riders. You must have an advanced driving certificate and take a dbs check which we will pay for after the enrolling process. Milk Banks in the UK provide screened donor milk to sick, premature babies in NICUs, and when mothers have cancer and other conditions. We specialise in transporting the milk between Donors and Milk Banks or between Milk Banks and Recipients free of charge.
We provide a professional and reliable out of hours transport service for Blood and Blood products, 365 days a year. We also provide GP's with the ability to offer evening and weekend Blood Clinics by transporting their samples to the Pathology Department. No more having to take a day off work to have a blood sample taken.
By offering a free transport service for medications, Hospitals are able to relieve "Bed Blocking" by allowing patients to leave hospital earlier. We collect the medication and take it straight to their door. Another fantastic service saving the NHS money.
We exist entirely on charitable donations.
As a new group, we need to raise funds to increase the amount of help we can provide but most importantly, we need to cover running costs such as insurance, MOT, fuel, and maintenance. There are many ways to support East Midlands Freewheelers, from donations, volunteering your time, corporate sponsorship etc.
We need to continue to provide a service and look to expand and consolidate what we do. This means that we need more money to continue to operate. If you feel that you are able to assist, it might be worth looking at the kinds of things which we buy with funds generated. East Midlands Freewheelers welcomes sponsorship from companies.
We have now surpassed all expectations we had for the first year. With huge expansions and new projects we are looking to not only expand out our volunteering force but also the vehicles too. If you could spare some time to help us provide such an importanr service, please drop us a message.
